Royton Town AFC v Stockport Georgians

Another tough fixture again for Royton with still plenty of players missing because of injury and suspensions. Regular second team player  Jack Sloane got to make is debut  at the age of 16 and the young lad did not disappoint..Liam Lovell another 16  in goals for Royton had a splendid game with some superb stops. Also in the starting line up  was golden oldie  Paul Scholes who was fantastic from start to finish. The game ended 4-3 in Roytons favour with 3 superb strikes of pure quality two coming from Joe Heap and the other from Ashley Ainsworth. The game was end to end stuff from both teams but Royton just edged it. Stockport are always difficult opponents and they came to play  and if they had taken there chances could of come away with a victory. Royton are missing key players so the result in the end was a valuable 3 points for the home team and it keeps them in the run for the championship.  Craig Schumann was asked to play as one of the back three and he was outstanding .
