Middleton Lads & Girls Blue U14’s v Royton Town AFC U14’s

We got kick off and went out on the attack striaightaway with Bailey creating several chances. With 8 minutes played Tommy knocked a great ball through for Bailey to toe poke over the keepers head. 1-0 Royton.

It was a pretty comfortable display from Royton with the defenders Sean, Lewis, Saif and Kieran dealing with everything but on the 13th minute Middy clipped one into the top corner after a slight lapse in concentration from the midfield. 1-1.

Corner to Royton with 20 played, a great cross from Jackson and Tommy leapt above everyone to loop it into the back of the net. 2-1 to Royton.

Enter Rahman… a powerful display yet again from the big man saw him chasing a lost cause, keeping it in play and squaring it to Tommy for his 2nd. 3-1 to Royton.

Getting in on the goalscoring action again, Rahman powered through to pass the ball into the bottom corner. 4-1 to Royton with two minutes of the half left.

The 2nd half got underway and Middy started to carve out a few chances, Saif was off the pitch due to an earlier knock and he was being missed. Ciaran produced a fantastic 1 on 1 save but then a minute later one of the Middy Lads was brought down in the box. Ciaran went the right way but Middy had pulled it back to 4-2 with four minutes played.

Rahman was causing no end of problems for Middy and created another goal but this time for Bailey. Twenty minutes to go and Royton now at 5-2.

With 26 played Royton were awarded a free-kick about 25 yards out.  Jackson to take… Right over the keeper. 6-2 to Royton, a comfortable win in the end…
