Recap
MOM: Rahman
We weren’t sure what to expect today with it being the first game since our last 😂 (in mid December) and with no training since before Christmas. To be fair it was a slow start, the sharpness of passing wasn’t there and the tracking back was hard work.
It took 17 minutes to break the deadlock with Isaac lobbing the keeper – what a relief, it looked like it was going to be one of those days. Both Tommy and Rahman made the keeper produce good saves early on and they hit the bar from a free kick.
The rest of the half was still a bit of a struggle playing ‘uphill’ but then Sam won a challenge and played a great through ball to Rahman on the half hour to make it 2-0. Getting a snif for goal, 2 minutes later Rahman collected the ball from 20 yards out and curled it in to make it a half time score of 3-0.
The 2nd half was a totally different game with Rahman taking just 4 minutes to complete his hat trick with a neatly placed shot into the bottom corner. 4-0.
Jackson, desperate to get on the scoresheet then scored 2 in 2 minutes with a superb effort on 5 minutes and then again on 7 to make it 6-0.
Now with 15 minutes gone Rahman scuffed a shot which trickled towards their keeper, spinning though it curved away from him and crept over the line. 7-0.
Sam was the unfortunate not to score, clean through but the ref blew for a foul to Royton.
Still pushing for more goals Bailey and Isaac ran through on goal, Bailey put it in but it was deemed offside. A minute later Bailey was through again and passed it in. 8-0 with 5 minutes left. With seconds now left Bailey found himself through again and executed a fine lob.
