Royton Town AFC Reserves v Altrincham Hale Reserves

Royton started the game at full throttle and were 3-0 up inside the first 20 minutes.  The home team took full  advantage with Jack Sloane calmly slotting home inside the opening minutes. Then up stepped Travis Martin adding a brace .  To be fair the away team did respond and started a fight back and grabbed a goal back before half time. The second half pretty much the same but again it was the visitors who grabbed yanother goal. Royton just carried on with the game in hand and eventually got the nerve settler to make it 4-2 with ten minutes to go. Then in the dying minutes added a fifth. The visitors played a great part in a very even contest at times all credit to them because the conditions were not great but in the end a fantastic result for the home team.2 more games to go lads let just keep plugging away .Well done great victory.

Also a very tough decision on the mom award today. Aaron Thorpe was as usual flawless as was Simmo the captain. Will Morgan started the game in excellent form only to go off early with a slight knock. Joe Gidley was outstanding in the middle of the park to play against older guys at the age of 17 and to be bossing them about outstanding young man. Travis Martin also was in contention with his brace.

MoM  Joe Gidley
