Rossendale Valley Tiger U14’s v Royton Town AFC U14’s

Anyway – the last game of the season today and the lads asked to have their positions drawn out of a hat.  We ended up with 2 centre half playing central midfield and the rest not too far off normal but we had a very strong bench!!

It was a slow start and not much talking which resulted in their right back getting onto the end of a cleared corner, 3 minutes in and a goal to Rossendale…

The lads managed to get it level on 10 minutes with a good finish from Jack Gibson.  Unfortunately 4 minutes later we were behind again after some slack defending. And with 20 minutes played Kieran stuck one in his own goal trying to clear the ball.  Half time 3-1 to Rossendale.

We started the 2nd half with the lads now in their own positions and straightaway you could see the difference. Some really nice play and the lads were creating some great chances.

16 minutes in and Rahman pulled one back to make it 3-2.  The lads kept battling away and with 2 minutes to play Joe smashed it home to make it 3-3.  That was good enough for us, a great 2nd half performance.
