Dukinfield Town A v Royton Town AFC Reserves

Another comfortable result for the reserves . To be fair Dukinfield started the game on the front foot and took the lead and it was well deserved. Royton did miss some clear cut chances in front of the goals.   Eventually they settled down and started to control the game. The tireless Joe Gidley opened the scoring for Royton with a well deserved goal after his immaculate performance when his team needed it. This lads attitude from start to finish was what his team needed to grab the points on offer well done Joe.  The second half saw Royton totally dominate their opponents with chances coming from all directions but with the lads missing the target it looked like to be one of them days. Eventually Jack Sloane slotted home to calm the nerves and in the last ten minutes the home team sealed the 3 points for us with a own goal . Good performance on a pitch that was not the best suited for the football Royton are use to playing . But sometimes its not about how you play its about how the team grafts to get that win..Great performance from all the players on the pitch but the one that stood out for me was Joe Gidley MoM
