Beechfield United v Royton Town AFC

Towns 1st team made hard work of a 2-1 away win over Beechfield United at Salford Sports Village.Town had Liam Wood,Joe Heap & Craig Schumann back & also gave a debut to 17 year old keeper Harry Fleet.
Town played some of their best football this season as they completely dominated the first half but had to settle for a 1-0 lead at half time following a long range effort in the 33rd minute from Craig Schumann that the home keeper found too hot to handle.Town continued in the same vein as they started the second period & should’ve added at least a couple of more goals to their tally before Paul Ashton made it 2-0 with a cracking finish in the 55th minute.Town had more chances to increase the lead but failed to capitalise on them & a misplaced back pass led to the home side pulling a goal back in the 70th minute, the remaining time saw Town defending defiantly as their opponents gained confidence from the goal but Town weathered the pressure to gain 3 valuable points.
Some good individual performances from Town

MoM  Craig Schumann
