Back down in freezing Salford against Beechfield and the lads knew that a win was the only option after dropping points against them at home.

Kieran Foster and Lewis Baker both missing this week, hopefully buying me something for Christmas but still an impressive 4 subs.

Ciaran ‘The Cat’ Sutcliffe in goal, Sean Grennan, Saif Amjad, Tommy Wild and Jack Gibson making up the back four – Joe Mellor, Sam Marlor, Harrison Fulton, Ewan McMurdo and Rahman Folami making the 5 in midfield and Jackson up front.

Bailey Hilton, Isaac Boamah, Rex Abanum and Fortune Omomo making a sting bench.

The game kicked off and it took the lads a good few minutes to settle into the swing of things with a lot of big boots over the top.  Chances came for both side although the better ones fell to Royton.  It was 17 minutes in and Joe, switched the ball to his weaker right foot to slot home. 1-0.

A few changes at half time and a kick up the backside to get them going.  It was 7 minutes in, Joe knocked a sweet cross over to Jackson who took it on the left foot volley right I to the bottom corner.  What a finish.  2-0.

Time for Rahman to get in on the goalscoring action, 20 minutes in and Fortune slipped a lovely ball through to him for a nice worked 3rd.

3-0, fully deserved win and a fantastic performance from everyone.  Joe Mellor won MOM with a goal and an assist.

Tommy Wild won December’s Player of the Month.

Hopefully a couple of weeks off now to recharge…
