Barrhill Hearts U14’s v Royton Town AFC U14’s

A 9:30 kick off down in a wet Salford for this week’s game and Royton had a depleted team with 2 defenders, Lewis and Kieran both missing through injury and illness.

What a start from Royton though, Ciaran ‘The Cat’ Sutcliffe launched a kick forward right over the last defender. This left both their keeper and Rahman to chase down and there was only going to be one winner. Rahman took a touch and knocked it in. 1-0 to Royton and only just one minute played.

Some nice football from both sides and Barr Hill pulled it back on 7 minutes with a superb individual effort.  The lad ran right through the middle and slotted it past Ciaran like a Lionel Messi.

A tactical masterclass and Jackson moved up front and caused all kinds of problems for Barr Hill.  Knocking in a great shot on 21 minutes. 2-1 to Royton.  This was turning out to be a great display in horrendous conditions.  Another goal and Jackson again managing to poke it home. 3-1 to Royton with 27 minutes played.

The second half got underway and the lads knew what they had to do now so no silly mistakes and what a performance from every single one of them. Harrison dropped into centre half along side Saif and Jack Gibson dropped to an unfamiliar right back…the back line was made up of 3 midfield players!!!  Sam and Bailey were doing the ugly hard graft allowing Tommy a bit of freedom and it was Tommy who played a through ball to Rahman to run onto.  21 minutes played and now 4-1… game over.  You probably won’t see many better team performances than that.  MoM this week was Tommy Wild, he was, and I quote “different gravy” today.

Player of the Month went to Saif Amjad for some fantastic performances throughout November.
